Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley held its 23rd annual Run for the Kids: Superhero Hustle 5K Run/1-Mile Walk on Saturday, Oct. 3. More than 400 people participated in the event, which took place in sunny weather. The start/finish line for the 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) run and 1-mile walk was in front of the Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley facility at 830 S. Addison Avenue in Villa Park. All runners and walkers were encouraged to dress as their favorite superhero in the event, which benefited children with developmental delays and disabilities. Participants and donors helped Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley surpass its $50,000 fundraising goal for the event, which raised nearly $70,000 from sponsorships, registrations, and donations. The party immediately after the run/walk featured food, raffles, and a performance by the Jesse White Tumblers.
